Director of Product Development

Position Summary: 

Youthforia is hiring a Director of Product Development to lead our product development efforts, with a focus on inclusivity and the creation of a diverse product line. This role will be instrumental in ensuring our products cater to a wide range of skin tones and cultural preferences. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of product development processes, project management, regulatory requirements, and marketing strategies, coupled with a strong commitment to DEI principles.


Key Responsibilities:

 Product Development Leadership:

  • Manage the product development process from concept to launch, overseeing product life-cycle from creating the marketing brief, to delivery at the warehouse, including formula development, packaging development, COGs and margin, ensuring alignment with Youthforia's brand values and DEI goals.
  • Deliver to brand strategy to ensure innovative product concepts, unique product positioning, ingredient and formula storytelling, technical innovation and on-time delivery.
  • Serve as the primary contact with 3rd party labs to source innovative formulations by providing formula feedback and product expertise to lead the product development process.
  • Travel as necessary to supervise formula development, shade matching and product production.
  • Responsible for sourcing of primary and secondary packaging and testing, including artwork development and approving standards.

DEI Initiatives:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of existing and planned products to identify opportunities for expanding shade ranges and inclusivity.
  • Collaborate with key vendors, marketing, and creative, to ensure DEI considerations are integrated at every stage of product development.
  • Engage with BIPOC community members, makeup artists, focus groups, and consumer insights to gather feedback and inform product development decisions.
  • Lead initiatives to increase representation and inclusivity in product offerings, ensuring diverse voices are heard and reflected in all Youthforia products.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address gaps in Youthforia product lines and improve accessibility for underrepresented groups.

 Project Management:

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective product launches.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution of product development projects.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues or delays promptly.

 Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all products comply with relevant regulatory standards and guidelines in various markets.
  • Coordinate all required testing, including stability, compatibility, weight loss, transit tests and line trials as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to mitigate risks and ensure product safety and efficacy.

 Product Marketing:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop compelling product stories that highlight inclusivity and diversity.
  • Support the creation of marketing materials and campaigns that resonate with a diverse customer base.
  • Analyze market trends and consumer feedback to guide future product development and marketing strategies.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Product Development, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in product development, with a focus on beauty or personal care products.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading DEI initiatives within a product development context.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully bringing products to market.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a commitment to driving positive change.

Freelance Makeup Artist / Beauty Advisor 

We are building our team of freelance ambassadors for Youthforia! We are seeking energetic, positive makeup artists to provide customized services for our customers while also building valuable relationships with our retail partners. This position will be in fast paced environments with the intention to create impactful and memorable in-store experiences. 

Artist responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Meeting daily sales goal through client interactions and training in-store team
  • Updating our displays and making sure brand standards have been kept
  • Educate in store team on new launches and brand knowledge 
  • Customized service for each client, recommending products that are best suited for their needs (personalized shade recommendations) 
  • Seeking out new clients
  • Leading and executing in-store events 
  • Upholding brand and retailers guidelines 
  • Recap with corporate team after each store visit


    • While makeup retail experience is preferred, it is not required as long as applicant can demonstrate creative and technical expertise

        Freelance Graphic Designer

        At Youthforia, we’re looking for a freelance graphic designer to join our team! You’ll be supporting the marketing team and will be helping to bring the CEO/Creative Director’s creative vision to life!

        Digital: Graphic Design

        • Digital graphic design for social media, ads, sales support
        • Design and organize content for e-commerce for both DTC and retail websites
        • Support marketing and sales teams in creating sales sheets and educational guides
        • Support in designing of presentations

        Physical Design

        • Assist in designing primary and secondary packaging for makeup products and kits
        • Assist in designing visual merchandizing for retail deploys and pop-ups
        • Assist in designing merch and clothing


        • Expertise in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and video editing software
        • Must have designed for both digital and physical elements before
        • Must be work in a fast paced startup environment
